Hood Controls - SC/DCV Packages - How To Change The HMI Display Number

This article explains how to change the HMI (user display) number for SC/DCV hoods electrical packages.

Many systems are designed with only one HMI but there are some that have two or more.
The HMI number is programmed from the factory.   On occasion, staff may accidentally change the configuration when users press and hold the fan and light button at the same time, then adjust the setting.
The setting may also need to be set for the first time with a replacement HMI.

When set incorrectly, it results in an inoperable HMI that appears to be stuck on a screen that is not normally displayed (example below).
The number that the HMI is assigned to largely depends on how many HMIs are connected to the electrical package.
Setting the HMI number configures the communication between that HMI and the ECPM03 Board.
If only one HMI is present, it must be set to HMI #1 for proper operation.
Systems with multiple HMIs will require each HMI to be assigned its own number.
Example: A system with two HMIs will have one HMI assigned as HMI #1 and another HMI assigned as HMI #2.
The information that follows indicates an HMI with software DCV 2.17.02, but the process is similar for all SC/DCV packages with software DCV 2.00 and newer.

HMI Configuration
To set/change the HMI number:
  1. Press and briefly hold the bottom two buttons simultaneously on the HMI faceplate.
  2. Use the Up and Down buttons to select the Modify HMI Number parameter and press Enter.
  3. Use the Up and Down buttons to change the HMI number. Once it is on the correct number, press Enter.
  4. Press Menu to save changes and reboot the HMI.
  5. Once the HMI reboots, there may be a beeping sound and a Modbus Fault HMI Config Error present. Press Mute to stop the beeping and clear the fault.

If changes are successful, the HMI(s) should return to the normal display, similar to below, within 15 seconds.
